Substitute Beeswax

SURFACE PREPARATION: Clean your leather product of any excess dirt. If you use water to do so, make sure the shoes are completely dry before going on.

PRODUCT PREPARATION: Soften the beeswax by heating with an open flame, oil burner or pan on the stove.

Apply the wax with a clean towel.

Seal the wax into the leather with a hair dryer. Ensure that you keep the hair dryer at a good distance from your leather product to avoid overheating the leather.

Rub away and any excess wax with the towel and buff the product to desired shine.

FIRST-AID MEASURES

Eyes

Cold product – Wash eye thoroughly with copious quantities of water, ensuring eyelids are held open.  Obtain medical advice if any pain or redness develops or persists.

Hot product – Flood with water to dissipate heat.  In the event of product remaining, do not try to remove it other than by continued irrigation with water.  Obtain medical attention immediately.

Skin

Hot product – Flood skin with cold water to dissipate heat, cover with clean cotton or gauze, obtain medical advice immediately.

Ingestion

If contamination of the mouth occurs, wash thoroughly with water. Except as a deliberate act, the ingestion of large amounts of product is unlikely.  If it should occur, do not induce vomiting, obtain medical advice.

Inhalation

If inhalation of fumes from overheated material causes irritation to the nose or throat, or coughing, remove to fresh air.  Obtain medical advice if any symptoms persist.

Medical Advice

Treatment should in general be symptomatic and directed to relieving any effects.
